A little bit about us

Sonder & Co is a premium wedding and event content creation brand based in Cape Town, South Africa, and available for celebrations worldwide. The word sonder refers to the realization that every person you pass is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

Rooted in the concept of sonder, we capture your event by honoring the unique, interconnected stories in the room. Thoughtfully capturing behind the scenes content that mirrors your unique style, preserving the authentic feel and atmosphere of your day.

Hello, I'm June.

Welcome to our Sonder & Co community :)

I started Sonder & Co because I believe that when you are at your wedding, your only job should be to be completely in the moment. A wedding is a once in a lifetime celebration. You invest so much heart, time, and energy into bringing it to life, and it passes by in a flash. Because every single second is so incredibly sacred, you shouldn't have to miss a thing. You deserve to look back on a complete gallery of beautiful, high quality memories that capture the parts you experienced and the parts you didn't get to see.

I've always loved the look and feel of iPhone content, and its ability to be produced so quickly. Having worked in the content creation space for small business, when I noticed a gap in the South African market for dedicated wedding content creation, stepping into that space felt like the most exciting, and natural next step.

Content matters because of what it allows for on and after the day. To “feel” all over again. At Sonder & Co, we want to make sure we give couples that exact opportunity. To be present and have an archive of beautiful memories to hold on to for an eternity.

What is content creation, exactly?

Think of us as a professional guest, a quiet friend with an exceptional eye, capturing your day as it naturally unfolds. We work harmoniously alongside your photographer and videographer to ensure your celebration is documented from every angle, even the parts you don't get to experience yourself. No more waiting weeks for guests to share their footage, and no more cringing over bad angles or blurry videos. Instead, you receive high quality, easily shareable content delivered to you within 24 hours.

Where are you based, and do you travel?

We're based in Cape Town, capturing events across the city, the Winelands and the wider Western Cape. We're also delighted to travel to beautiful destinations throughout South Africa and worldwide. Travel within 150 km of the Cape Town CBD is fully included; for celebrations further afield, a standard travel supplement will apply.

When will we see our content?

Your full gallery of raw files will be delivered within 24 hours of your event, so you can relive the magic instantly. Your edited reels follow within a few days. If you're hoping to receive your edited highlights even sooner, we offer a priority editing service for an additional fee.

How do we begin?

Send an enquiry below and a member of our content team will be in contact, and from there we'll find a time for coffee or a call, to get to know you better and chat about all things content and wedding. Your date is officially secured in our calendar once we've received your S&C deposit.

How we look after your information.

Sonder & Co respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through sonderandcocreative.com, why we collect it, how we protect it and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Sonder & Co is a wedding and event content creation business based in Cape Town, South Africa. For the purposes of POPIA, Sonder & Co is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, and the owner of Sonder & Co is responsible for all privacy matters.

2. What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our form, we collect:

  • your full name and your partner's name
  • your email address and phone number for WhatsApp
  • the date and place of your event, and what you are celebrating
  • how you would like us to contact you
  • anything you choose to tell us about your vision for your day

We also collect limited technical information that your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, to protect the form against spam. If you allow analytics cookies, we collect information about how the site is used (see section 7).

We do not ask for special personal information such as health, religious or financial information. Please do not include it in your message.

3. Why we use it

  • to reply to your enquiry and arrange a coffee or call
  • to prepare a quote and, if you book, to plan and deliver your content
  • to keep our website secure and free of spam
  • with your consent, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it

We process your information because you asked us to (your consent), because it is needed to take steps towards or perform a contract with you, or because we have a legitimate interest in keeping our website secure. We will never sell your information, and we will not send you marketing unless you ask for it.

4. Who we share it with

We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run the website, and only as much as they need:

  • Cloudflare hosts the website, protects the form with Turnstile and delivers enquiry emails to our inbox
  • Google provides our email inbox and, only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics

These providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

5. Information sent outside South Africa

Cloudflare and Google may store or process information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers who are subject to data protection laws or binding agreements that give protection similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and, if you book with us, for the duration of our work together and any period the law requires afterwards (for example for tax records). Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them sparingly:

  • Necessary: Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security and to protect the form against bots, and we remember your cookie choice on your device. These do not track you.
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics helps us see which parts of the site people find useful. It only loads if you choose Accept all.

You can change your choice at any time with .

8. Keeping it safe

The website runs over an encrypted connection, the form is protected against spam and misuse, and access to our inbox is limited and secured. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever become aware of a breach that affects you, we will let you and the Information Regulator know as POPIA requires.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold information about you and request a copy of it
  • ask us to correct or delete your information
  • object to us using your information, and withdraw consent you have given
  • not receive direct marketing you did not ask for
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

To use any of these rights, email sonderandcocreative@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You may also contact the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, toll free 0800 017 160.

11. Other websites

Our site links to Instagram and WhatsApp. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
